Natural Gas Vehicle Refueling Instructions for Use with the Ford Crown Victoria
(Instructions for other vehicles will be the same.)
[Step 1 how-to photograph] 1. Drive up to fueling station, turn engine off. (There are two locations for refueling in Raleigh listed in notebook inside car. Other locations are also listed.)
[Step 2 how-to photograph] 2. Note the mileage on the odometer.
[Step 3 how-to photograph] 3. Make sure pump handle on dispenser is in the "off" position.
[Step 4 how-to photograph] 4. Open fuel cover and remove plastic cap from fueling adapter.
[Step 5 how-to photograph] 5. Connect fuel hose nozzle to fuel adapter on the vehicle. This is a quick-connect-fitting adapter so you have to pull back toward you on the blue hose handle adapter when connecting the hose nozzle to the quick-connect-fitting on the vehicle.
[Step 6 how-to photograph] 6. Turn lever on valve "on." The black "pointed end" of the valve should point toward the dispenser-end of hose nozzle.
[Step 7 how-to photograph] 7. Go to dispenser and insert black fueling key into Fuel Master control panel.
[Step 8 how-to photograph] 8. Directions will appear on screen.
[Step 9 how-to photograph] 9. Follow instructions on screen of Fuel Master.
  1. Insert key into control panel.

  2. Enter driver ID number (82020 for Crown Vic for PSNC locations) (state car numbers for PSNC locations only), press enter.

  3. Enter odometer mileage reading, press enter.

  4. Remove key (most people are neglecting to do this step).

  5. Press "1" which indicates pump, press enter.

  6. Re-insert key into Fuel Master control panel.

  7. Remove key.

[Step 10 how-to photograph] 10. Turn pump handle on dispenser to the "on" position and fueling will begin.
[Step 11 how-to photograph] 11. When vehicle tanks are full, pump will stop. Turn the pump handle on dispenser to the "off" position.
[Step 12 how-to photograph] 12. Turn lever on valve "off." The black "pointed end" should now point toward the vehicle-end of hose nozzle. This will also vent the hose.
[Step 13 how-to photograph] 13. Disconnect the fuel hose nozzle from the vehicle. Once again, this is a quick-connect-fitting adapter so you have to pull back on the hose handle adapter when disconnecting hose nozzle.
[Step 14 how-to photograph] 14. Replace the fuel hose nozzle at the dispenser.
[Step 15 how-to photograph] 15. Replace black plastic cap from fueling adapter.
[Step 16 how-to photograph] 16. Close fuel cover.
[Step 17 how-to photograph] 17. The refueling, or filling procedure, is also stated on the Fuel Master dispenser.
